Remember Remember the 5th of November, but for a very different reason!
It was an exciting day as we celebrated the launch of a report on Education Access in Ireland for students with vision impairment. The collaboration between Féach, @angeleyesni and Empatheyes was inspiring, bringing together our strengths to ensure that students with visual impairments in both jurisdictions can access quality education.
The report highlights needed practical solutions, particularly through the integration of technology, to enhance the learning experience for these students. It also aims to improve the skills of those responsible for training and supporting individuals with visual impairments CAs/SNAs.
Last February Angel Eyes NI and Féach ran the first training course for SNA’s and Classroom Assistants on the island of Ireland, this gives you an idea of how the day went. This group of women supporting our children are dedicated, hardworking and hungry for knowledge, to be able to deliver that and watch its impact was fantastic. Collaborating with Angel Eyes NI and sharing knowledge has doubled both our strengths. This project was funded from the Shared Island Civic Society Fund, huge thanks to them for giving us this opportunity. Hopefully this is the start of many more collaborations and training projects
Thank you to Nick Mathison, the MLA who sponsored the event. We’re grateful for the support.
