Thanks to Pobal for sponsoring our Hero Booklet, celebrating those who have made a massive difference to our children’s lives. This was part of the ARISE program promoting social enterprises like Féach. The introduction to the book was written by President Higgins himself, the Heroes include, Dr. Michael O’Keeffe, Grainne Meaney – Visiting Teacher, Leo Moran – one of the Saw Doctors, Pauline Flannery – a Resource teacher and many more. As part of the celebrations 5 visually impaired young people were presented with prizes for their video’s promoting who has made a difference to their lives.
There was hardly a dry eye in the house, between the videos and the stories it was a great celebration, presided over by Chris White CEO of NCBI and Aoife Kearney Chairperson of Féach.
So often in life it is the small things that make a huge difference, this book and the videos celebrate the impact an individual can have on a persons life. The stories highlight how easily education, medical care and accessibility can be improved. This message is central the everything Féach does. Our goal is to empower parents, to give children a voice and improve outcomes for all blind/VI children, the Hero series encapsulated that goal and made for a memorable occasion.
